Approaching Equity in the Job Search Process: A Comprehensive Career Readiness Framework

What does it mean to be “job ready” and what elements does an impactful job readiness training initiative need to incorporate? Join us to experience the Career Readiness Framework, developed and published in 2023 as an open-source curriculum for workforce development practitioners. Drawing on an extensive review of behavioral economics and brain science research, the curriculum integrates best practices in coaching, goal-setting, trauma-informed practice, racial equity principles, executive functioning, and workplace navigation skills. While the curriculum offers detailed facilitation guidance for job readiness instructors on topics ranging from code switching to workplace values identification to interview practice, it also offers a road map for the organizational culture change needed to offer this type of holistic training.
