Improving Job Quality in Small- and Medium-Sized Businesses
September 25, 2024 4:15 PM 4:45 PM
Two-thirds of low-income workers are employed by small- and medium-sized businesses (SMBs), and having a good job significantly impacts workers’ economic mobility. Ensuring that SMBs are able to provide good jobs is vital for the well-being of their employees and for their business performance. Pacific Community Ventures (PCV) and Translational Research Service (TRS) will engage discussion around efforts to increase the demand for good jobs through procurement processes, capital access opportunities, and peer influence, as well as the supply of good jobs by equipping business owners with the tools to measure their job quality and make improvements. This session will further share efforts by PCV and TRS in exploring, developing, and testing publicly available tools and resources aimed at increasing SMB’s adoption of job quality practices.
