Building more equitable and vibrant local economies requires attracting and retaining good businesses, providing high-quality jobs, and raising the floor -and the ceiling- for working families. This session provides an in-depth look at employee ownership as an underutilized approach in workforce development to advance racial equity, create quality jobs, and strengthen and anchor local employment. This session provides an orientation to the benefits of employee ownership, metrics for evaluating the impact of worker ownership on working families, and examples of innovative workforce initiatives that supported worker cooperative development. Attendees will leave with concrete steps to advance worker ownership using available resources.
