Peta-Gaye Johnson is the Director of Healthcare Workforce Initiatives at the MassHire Hampden County Workforce Board in Springfield, Massachusetts. Since 2014 she has managed a broad multi-stakeholder partnership to address workforce challenges in the region’s healthcare industry. She leads the Healthcare Workforce Partnership of Western Mass. The partnership brings health care providers organizations, education, workforce development and philanthropy together to increase the supply of skilled healthcare workers. Peta-Gaye directly oversees the Western Massachusetts Nursing Collaborative, a coalition of nurse leaders focused the critical role the nursing workforce plays in the delivery of quality care and ensuring an adequate, diverse supply of nurses to meet the regions healthcare needs. She is the co-chair of the simulation committee, a sub-committee of the state’s nursing workforce alliance.
