Becky was named the Inaugural Director of Allegheny County’s Department of Children Initiatives in May 2021. She has over 20 years of experience in the early learning field and began her career teaching preschool in a childcare center. She has provided local, state, and national leadership around critical ECE issues, including the prevention of suspension and expulsion of young children, public and fiscal policy supporting infants and toddlers and the ECE and OST workforce, and the adoption of shared services across the ECE sector. Becky has extensive knowledge of Pennsylvania’s policy, programmatic, and funding landscapes serving children birth to 12 years old and their impact at the local level. She previously served as the Director of the Bureau of Early Learning Policy and Professional Development for Pennsylvania’s Office of Child Development and Early Learning.
