General Information
SHIFT is the National Fund for Workforce Solutions’ premier biennial convening which brings together hundreds of workforce leaders and practitioners from communities around the country. SHIFT is an opportunity to engage in dialogue and activate solutions to the most pressing challenges in building an equitable future.
SHIFT attracts influencers, leaders, and practitioners from across the workforce development ecosystem. SHIFT is the place where business leaders, workforce practitioners, policymakers, funders, labor organizations, educators, and more come together to share priorities and perspectives on advancing an equitable workforce.
The 2024 event, SHIFT Toward an Equitable Future, will convene in Memphis, Tennessee September 24-26, 2024.
Application Submission: Proposals for sessions were due February 23, 2024. Presenters will be notified of the review committee’s decision by mid-April.
Review Process: The National Fund has put together a team to review all proposals. If your proposal is not selected for a full session, you have an opportunity to join us at SHIFT as an exhibitor. Reviewers will look to ensure that sessions align with the National Fund’s vision for an equitable future where workers have the resources required to thrive, race does not dictate employment outcomes, and all jobs are good jobs.

Please call the hotel directly at (901) 529-4000 or connect via the reservation link here to make your room reservation. To guarantee the special group rate of $259.00 per night plus taxes and fees, you must make your reservation no later than Friday, August 26, 2024. If calling, please identify yourself as part of the National Fund’s Convening.
Meals will be provided at breakfast, lunch, coffee breaks, and a reception on September 25 as well as breakfast, lunch, and coffee breaks on September 26. Please visit the SHIFT schedule page for more information.

The safety and well-being of the SHIFT community is our top priority. Our safety protocols are informed by the guidance of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). We will be following their guidance as it pertains to COVID-19 during the conference.
The dress code for the SHIFT is business casual, but don’t forget comfortable footwear.

All plenary sessions on the main stage will be recorded and shared on the National Fund YouTube channel following the event.
Photographs and videos will be taken at SHIFT. We use photos and videos to enhance the quality of our websites, social media, newsletters, and occasionally print materials. As a participant in SHIFT, you have a right to opt out of inclusion in photographs/media, but unless you inform us otherwise, participation implies permission for the use of images taken at those events. If you would prefer not to be photographed, please request a special sticker for your name badge at registration. Please contact nsharma@nationalfund.org with any questions.
We are planning to host SHIFT again in 2026. The specific dates and location will be announced at a future time.

Registration
Registration is now open. Please have your payment method ready, as your registration will not be complete until payment has been collected.
Early bird registration is $825 and closes on May 31, 2024. Full conference registration is $950.
Early bird registration closes at 5 p.m. Eastern on May 31, 2024. The last day to secure your spot for SHIFT Toward an Equitable Future will be August 30, 2024.
Yes. Please contact Mary O’Neill (moneill@nationalfund.org) if you are interested in paying by check or require an invoice. If you have opted to pay via check, you will receive an invoice by email within one week of registering. Check payments must be received by September 10, 2024, or your registration will be canceled.
No, we do not accept registrations on site. We have a limited capacity and must honor the attendees who registered in advance.
Registrations may be canceled for a refund (less $75 processing administrative fee) if the cancellation request is received in writing by September 10, 2024. All cancellations must be submitted in writing and emailed to nfwsolutionsconference@thebalcomgroup.com.
Registration substitutions are accepted. The substitution deadline is September 17, 2024. All substitutions after this date will be processed on-site. Please email substitution requests to nfwsolutionsconference@thebalcomgroup.com.
